Kids’ Nutrition Company, Inc., Staff
Director Juliann Jacobson has been working with the CACFP since 1983 (she started at a very young age). She began as an administrative assistant, worked for many years as a consultant and in 1996 began Kids’ Nutrition Company, Inc., when Children’s Services of Colorado closed its doors.
Juliann does everything that is needed to run the CACFP from administrating this very complex program with it’s many changes, consultant work (she still has 3 homes) to data entry and most things in between. She is very grateful to her excellent staff for being a great support and for making her job easier.
She has two wonderful and fun grown daughters, one a physician assistant currently at University of Colorado Medical Center in the transplant division, the other a development officer at the Grand Teton National Park Foundation in Jackson, Wyoming. She is the proud “mom” of Bella the Wonder Dog who accompanies her to the office every day and is a tremendous help in all areas of her life. Juliann loves to ski, hike, work out, cook and read.

Deirdre "D" Byerly
Deirdre “D” Byerly began working with Kids’ Nutrition in 2005. Before that, she worked for many years with Child Care Sponsors Food Program, until they closed their doors. In 2013 D. took a brief hiatus from the CACFP and worked in adult nutrition, was the caregiver for her mom, and worked for a childcare center attached to a CU addiction treatment program for moms and their babies. All great experiences, but she’s very happy to be back at Kids’ Nutrition.
Passionate about kids and their nutrition, D. relishes the opportunity to support providers as they lay a strong nutritional foundation for the kids in their care.
Married for 30+ years, D. has three grown children she adores spending time with. In her free time, she likes to walk, hike, read, and write fiction.
